Dearest Manager
[NAME]
[LAST NAME]
They/them
Sypnosis:You the manager of the six breeze but their attachment to you are so otherworldly.
When you first started:
When you fist started it was just applies there was only Venti member during that time.
Venti was known on the social media for his melodious songs that he sing the many songs he have on cover.
He was so friendly to you something that gets away the stress that's been in you're heart the tightening grip was gone.
The next member that was recruited was Aether who is only a normal barista doing part time jobs with his sister.
How you two met: Well you and Venti usually stop by on the cafe he always work by where you planned things.
During that time the band that always play on the cafe was gone apparently something about one of the lead singer wife having their birth and the friends just tag along.
Aether was the one who stepped up to perform the voice it was so enchanting.
When you and Venti look at each other you both knew he have to get in.
Xiao was unpredictable coming off as a loner. But short.
Zhongli was one of the Venti's former coworkers on D. I. C. K. Z. weird name honestly.
They almost have a dirty mind.
*bonk*
Xiao was one of the guitarist he was a genius.
You and Venti seriously went on knees for him to join.
Aether was trying to stop you both.
The 4nemo was made.
During their first song there were chaos of course you have to be the peacemaker even though in reality you are the tiredmaker.
Until you meet someone.
"Hi there the names Jean this is Sucrose."
Jean a talented a female who is part of a rich family meanwhile Sucrose a colleague student who running low on money meet Jean by pure accident.
With that Jean become one of the managers a talented one Sucrose although a shy one was good at picking the tunes.
The first song was a hit.
Mainly towards at the female first.
A new members then joined two boys dragging a grumpy one.
Kazuha, Heizou and Kunikuzuhi.
Two sun shines and a grumpy one.
Of course with the new recruits and considering how the look like the fans immediately loved them.
Yeah you can practically hear the simping.
Faruzan your best friend become one of the managers when she saw how deep your eye bags were helping with the debut.
Another success.
Until your birthday came around.
At first you didn't pay attention to it until you noticed how not one of them are answering or reading your messages thats weird.
Considering how they quick they answer on your message.
When you went into the building it was so dark until you opened the lights.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY [NAME]"
Until a cake goes in your face courtesy of Wanderer causing for him to get chased by Xiao.
Where's Sayu?
Sayu is your little sister going to elementary school.
What Yandereness did they do?
Wandering on how you stayed as their manager for that long when in reality you are planning to quit after their debut?
Well they found out they're not very happy they threaten you're boss. It's not like someone will believe them though.
Heizou before joining the band was a detective so dealing with them is easy.
Every footage was deleted courtesy by Faruzan and Jean.
So there's no escape.
Do they have group chat about you?
Yes yes they do.
Bunch of it was pictures of you and learning you're favorite from the others.
Also looking after after you they see how worse your eye bags could get to.
They're so worried about you here have some bento and you're favorite drink.
Don't ask them how they know just eat you're making them so worried about you.
When they team up;
Why team up because it's so easy protecting you as a group. Plus fighting with one another is tiring.
Plus the other have advantage that they don't.
When they start picking up with the other becoming yanderes they wondered why not create a group to protect you.
It was Venti's idea.

wait im so curious whats happening rn w liam payne? he was always default the worst 1d guy and ik he like shills nfts but i need the tea on what he did to get twitter to snap
it’s been a wild 24 hours in 1Dville so let me summarize everything the best i can
the beginning of this debacle was that liam flew out to niall’s show in argentina and just really made a spectacle of himself. this drew comparisons to other times the boys (excluding liam) have gone to support each other and been sure to avoid stealing the spotlight from the other one, specifically a time that harry went to see niall as well and left when he realized fans were watching him and not niall on stage. he also made some weird comments on snapchat about him and niall having things to ‘clear up’ which was probably just him trying to stir up drama and attention.. it’s worth noting that liam himself has specifically said that niall has told him more than once to stop talking about him. anyway after the show, liam went to nialls hotel to stand outside and meet NIALLS fans and take pictures with them. this entire thing just put a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths but as far as criticisms liam’s getting right now, this is very tip of the iceberg. like weird but not necessarily bad
THEN we are brought back to when he went on logan paul’s podcast a few years ago and mentioned having a fight with a member of 1D who threw him into a wall. he didn’t say who it was and there was a lot of speculation as to which member it was. his ex girlfriend, maya henry, confirmed via tiktok that it was zayn and joked that she has heard the story an insufferable amount of times. his fans essentially jumped her in the comments and she hit back at them saying that they didn’t know him in the same context that she did as his ex. she has a book out where she talks about the abuse she endured with him, and in her tiktok she talked about how the day she released her book, liam went to see louis in concert for damage control because he knew that two 1D members in the same room always gets attention. she also mentioned that he still stalks her, and still calls her, her mom, her grandmother, her friends, and frequently creates new icloud accounts to harass her. there’s a lot more that can be said for his treatment of maya and the specific things she went through but i think the fact that she says he would openly tell her that he can do anything he wants because one direction fans will defend him says it all..
a fan came forward via tiktok as well and shared that she had been coerced and manipulated into sharing nudes with him through instagram. while she was of legal age, the power imbalance between a fan and a celebrity cannot be overlooked. she was also told by liam that he can get away with anything because he has 1D fans. maya confirmed in the comment section that other women have told her that he did this to them as well.
do with all of this as you will and form your opinion about him and his actions as you will! personally, i find him not just skeezy and weird, but abusive and highly resentful of the success of his former band mates because he knows he will never be remembered as an integral member of one direction and formidable solo artist the way the others are 🫡

The camp aesthetic isn't dead. It's just doing what it's always done, waiting to be found and appreciated outside the mainstream of year-end lists and algorithms. Below, I've made a list of some prolific creators I see keeping it alive with two camp principles as guidance (apologies to Susan):
"Camp: doing more than is necessary with less than what you need." Zadie Smith, "Mark Bradford's Niagra"
"Decorative, 'amusing,' 'good theater,' witty in the right way, and likely to make heterosexual relationships look ridiculous." J.B. Priestley, "Block Thinking"
Julio Torres: the Salvadorian-American surrealist formerly of SNL
Los Espookys: a friend group uses special effects to fake paranormal activity to help rich people and government officials avoid their problems Problemista: an aspiring toy-maker must work for an art-world outcast played by Tilda Swinton to keep his visa Fantasmas: in a surreal NYC, Julio encounters a bunch of different people as he searches for a lost diamond oyster earring
Jojo Tichakorn: the Thai party-fiend with a love for the 90s and y2k
3 Will Be Free: Throuple escaping the mafia Mama Gogo: former diva inherits a male strip bar and has to make it successful The Warp Effect: High-schooler figures out what happened the night he blacked out when he wakes up ten years in the future Only Friends: Thai redux of Queer as Folk, updated for the current era The Heart Killers: Adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You and Taming of The Shrew but with gay hitmen and BDSM

Hii, so I saw you take requests soo I guess here is one🫶🏻: lee know x fem reader who is a roommate of a former/or still employed coworker from jyp (like make ip artist or stylist) and the friend is still in touch with skz and they are really good friends still and reader gets to meet Minho and rest and Minho is like really enchanted (not that obvious, but visible to the members) and wants to know more about reader. Idk they hang out as a group a few times and he is like trying to leave hints that he likes her but she doesn‘t get it and is oblivious (even though she totally has a crush on him too…which he knows) so he gets like frustrated and asks her out eventually after a group activity and she is like…mE?! You could ask everyone and you ask ME?? Hahahah idk and then it‘s like a cute date or something…
Well I hope this sounds great, if not that is fine too, thanks for taking req and have a wonderful dayyy💕
♫₊˚.🎧 ✩。☕ 🤎 HONEY SATURDAY NIGHT - Minho Imagine !
Your best friend and roommate was a sunny and friendly person, unlike you, and managed to maintain a firm friendship for years. It was amazing how she didn't care how long she hadn't seen a person, especially one she didn't like, she still managed to sneak into everyone's heart and make them love her, you were incredulous to see how many people she knew and asked out to dinner. You hadn't had that many friends since kindergarten, so much so that your only friend now was actually your flatmate, who was working and older than you while you were still a college student. You used to go out together in your spare time and watch her stop every ten steps and talk to everyone - hallucinating.
You could somehow understand her, as she had worked for many years at one of the biggest music companies: JYP Entertainment. And it was quite unexpected when one day you found her at the foot of your bed begging you to go to a group gathering with her. As fate would have it, it was with one of the most famous and successful bands: Stray Kids. You knew the band well - who didn't? Heejin had been their stylist and hairdresser for years, apparently enough to form a nice friendship bond that she wanted to pull you into. But she was well aware of your interactions on a social level. And you didn't want new friends, even if they were eight Adonis. Too bad no one could really resist Heejin. "Please, Y/N, I haven't seen them for a long time, they were so nice to ask me to come and invite a friend of mine because they were afraid I would feel uncomfortable since they are all male," she said with folded hands, begging you for the umpteenth time. "But look at you, how considerable! Too bad I don't care, and besides, if there are two of us, it won't change much," you told her, throwing a pillow at her.
"I'll buy you the latest Vivienne Westwood that you like so much if you go out with us." But unfortunately, as you had said, it was impossible to say no. Especially to a proposal like that, especially when you collected fashion items and your favourite was Vivienne herself. And so you had found yourself that Wednesday night preparing for this night out. Heejin had checked your wardrobe because, according to her, you had to be perfect in the eyes of the boys. You wondered why, especially since your best friend seemed to be planning a combo date. You looked like one of those debutantes who had to make a good impression on her way into society. She had bought you a little white St Gallen lace dress with balloon sleeves, paired with Camperos boots and a black leather jacket, and carried your usual handbag.
Standing in front of what looked like eight Adonis, you were struck by how much better they looked in person. But one in particular was particularly attractive and interesting in your eyes, even if he was very taciturn compared to the others - yes, these guys were always fooling around. What you did not know was that this same man was so enchanted by your beauty that he had to have his companions call out to him several times because he was staring at you too much. Strangely enough, you hadn't even tried too hard to interact with them, they had made you feel comfortable right away, and their sweetness towards you was endless, so much so that you struck up a friendship with Seungmin and Felix right away - the two of them were a strange duo, so sweet but almost devilish, especially Seungmin, who was always throwing strange spicy mixtures at Chan that he almost had to be beaten. What you did expect, however, was to become Minho's favourite prey. The way his friends described him, he was a real devil with feline features - more like a panther than a cat.
All this in an evening that lasted eight hours.
What you didn't expect was that you wouldn't go out with them several times and get on well with them, but that you would fall in love with Lee Minho. Yes, because after going out with them so many times in the last two months, you had become quite interested in the grey-haired guy and destiny wanted you to be his favourite prey. You were very close and he took every opportunity to tease you. Maybe that was what made you crazy about him. Not knowing that it was totally reciprocated from day one. Minho had a crush on you. Seriously - maybe you were a bit stupid - but you didn't take any of the hints he left you every time you went out with your friends. And he would say things about it, take advantage of every situation to sign with you, and you were the only one who didn't get it at all. He, on the other hand, was so curious that he always found a way to find out something new about you.
"Please Hyung invite her out, I can't stand all this tension every time we go out," Jeongin complained with a pout on his face. Minho laughed. "Seriously, how could she not see that you have a crush on her? Hannie figured it out too," Hyunjin said, clutching the arm of his best friend who made a fake offended face - he knew it was the truth. "Everything has its time guys, I want to tease her some more," the boy said, earning a dirty look from the rest of the group. On the other side, you lay despondently on your bed with your best friend, who was now tired of hearing your complaints about him. "But why don't you stop feeling sorry for yourself and just tell him that you like him like normal people do," Heejin said to you. But you were not normal and you were too afraid of the rejection that was so obvious in your eyes. "I'd ruin our friendship and therefore the group," you said, sinking your head into the pillow.
"I don't give a shit, I can't bear to see you in a state of self-pity. You're pathetic. And move that ass, we have to go out with the boys tonight" from bad to worse, you thought. Too bad you hadn't imagined that tonight, because of a stupid game suggested by Felix - who did everything in his power to get you and Minho together - you would find yourself locked in a room with Minho himself staring at you with his mega-brown eyes. "So, your idea is to keep silent and stare at me, or?" he asked you, making himself comfortable on the bed. You frowned at him and flanked him on the bed. Maybe Heejin was right and you needed to talk to him, this was a good opportunity. "Listen, I need to tell you something," you started and got his attention. He had his usual grin on his face, that slapping expression.
"Me too, will you go out with me?" her brain went into overdrive. What had he just said? You almost couldn't believe your ears. Was it a joke? It had to be. "So?" he asked again, expecting an answer. "Are you serious? I mean, you want to ask me out, just the two of us - a date?" you asked, still in shock. "Do you see anyone else in this room by any chance?" he asked in his usual sarcastic tone. "Really?" you asked again. "Really, Y/N," he said, giving you a shove. "Sure...I just wanted to tell you that...in short, I like you," you lowered your head. He raised it with his forefinger, then planted his lips on yours in a kiss that made your head spin. "Finally, I thought you'd never tell me," he chuckled. "What? You knew?" you asked in shock - what a fool you had been. "Yes, I just thought you'd be more awake, that you wouldn't notice my signals," she laughed, "Oh come on, was he teasing you? "Signals?" "Yes, signals, I've liked you for two months."
You really had been an idiot.
Your crush had always been sending you signals and you hadn't been able to pick them up - who knows how long you would have been together if you had... .... Now it's time to redeem yourself. At least as much as you can. "Ah, um. Well, you know, I'm looking forward to going out with you," you said shyly to your boyfriend? You still didn't know what you were. "Perfect, that's pretty much reciprocated. I'll pick you up on Saturday and we'll go camping for our first official date. Make sure you bring everything. I'll be there around ten in the morning. And to clarify your thoughts I have read so far...yes, you are my girlfriend now," he said, stealing another kiss from you and then sneering back at your friends. When Heejin saw you he knew immediately what had just happened and you laughed heartily.
The evening, like the week, flew by and you and Minho were in his sports car, ready to go camping. His hand was caressing your bare thigh and your mind was flickering all over the place. He was singing along to the songs on the radio and you just looked at him and smiled, thinking how lucky you were to have a man like that by your side. Who wouldn't want a Lee Minho to be their boyfriend - this boy was a dream on earth. When he turned to look at you, you always blushed like an idiot because he would catch you, but it was impossible not to, given the look he gave you every time. When you arrived at the campsite you smiled like a fool, you looked like you were on your honeymoon. He took you like a bride and carried you inside, into the bedroom of your tent. You pulled him to you, kissed him gently and nibbled on his lower lip, which turned cherry red each time.
"Princess, I have to get the things in the car, the food is in there too, you don't want it to go bad, do you?" he tickled you and then walked away to arrange your things in the tent, as if he was used to all this, and from there your mind began to wander a little too much. You imagined what he was like as a husband, surely perfect as he cooked for you or entertained your children. At that thought you couldn't help but smile and think what it would be like to make love to him day and night, to feel him close to your body - skin against skin, cold against heat. "You know I love coming here, I always come here when I want to be alone and I'm too stressed. But today I'm sharing it with you, because you're my favourite person," he chuckled, hugging you, throwing himself on top of you. "More than Jisung?" you giggled, knowing what a soft spot Minho had for that little squirrel - after all, everyone had a soft spot for Jisung, that guy was sweetness personified as well as being extremely adorable. "I should think about it," he said laughing, and you pretended to be offended and threw a pillow over him, straddling him and filling him with kisses.
"You're beautiful, do you know that?" he smiled, then began to kiss your neck slowly, but there was no malice in it. "Never as much as you, mister," you smiled, ruffling his hair - Minho was gorgeous, you could feel the warmth emanating from his body as it clung to yours in a gentle embrace. You had never been good at relationships, nor had you had ideal partners, but it was as if all the forces of nature had been concentrated to give you Minho. The boy had just the right amount of sweetness, sympathy and kindness, and you could go on like that for a long time. The only thing that was serious and overwhelming about him was his beauty, Minho seemed to have been sculpted by the gods.
"What are you thinking about?" he asked, waking you from the trance-like state you had fallen into. "I was thinking about you, I'm wondering if this isn't all a dream, ready to disappear when I open my eyes," you confided, seeing him staring at you as if thinking about something. "I have a way of letting you know it's real, sit down and wait for me here," he told you, disappearing from the tent and returning with a small bag. "Open it, it's for you," he said as he stood next to you. You opened the bag and then your smile widened as the gift appeared before your eyes, you looked at it almost in disbelief. "It's the same as my bracelet, I wanted to give you something special that we could share together," he smiled, you were almost speechless and motioned for him to help you put on a small necklace with a blue pendant, it was a lapis lazuli. "It's wonderful!" you cried and then catapulted yourself onto him and began to plant sweet kisses on his lips.
Kisses that became deeper, more mischievous. You wanted to make love to him all day long.
This did not displease the older man, who worshipped your body by filling it with kisses and caresses, you only stopped to eat and to feel Minho's hands on your naked skin had driven you as crazy as your hands on his chest had driven him crazy. It was late in the evening by the time you really stopped, too tired and sticky - you took a bath before going to bed. The older's hands ran through your wet locks as you listened to his heartbeat through his chest.
"I love you."
"I love you too."

What is your favorite part of the '68 Special?
Pictures: Singer Presents ... Elvis, commonly referred to as the '68 Comeback Special. 1968.
For me, undoubtedly I say my favorite part of the '68 Special is the sit-down concerts, specially the reunion between Elvis and the remaining members of Elvis' former band, the Blue Moon Boys, Scotty Moore and DJ Fontana.
I wonder if the fans, not the specialized critic such as musicians and general people in the business but specially the fans, back then, while watching this TV special for the first time, understood or merely felt the significance of this moment. I wonder if they were surprised in seeing Elvis not only back onstage after a while but back onstage with Scotty and DJ Fontana by his side. Man, that was special! To me, the most special portion of the '68 Comeback. ♥
Bill Black, bassist, unfortunately passed away in 1965, while Elvis was still full time engaged with his Hollywood career. Fans only wish Bill could have been there with Scotty and DJ. He had that irreverent performance that fascinates me, surely he would've been a great asset to the show. I only feel sorry Elvis, neither Scotty or DJ, ever mentioned Bill on the '68 Special, but its understandable the reason why. It wasn't about the Blue Moon Boys more than it was about Elvis returning to the stage. Even so, had Bill made it to this moment, man! That would've been something else. Even more meaningful than it already was.
Scotty Moore: His memories on the '68 Comeback Special and 'behind the scenes': Elvis and The Blue Moon Boys performing in Europe?
Source: Excerpt of the documentary "Elvis: The Birth of Rock n' Roll" (2004)
Scotty reveals Elvis asked him and DJ Fontana if they would agree to go on the road with him again, this time performing overseas, in Europe. Curious enough, to that question, Scotty says Elvis called him and DJ Fontana to another room in his home, so they could talk in private - which was something unusual for him because "usually anything he had to say, he'd say no matter who was around".
For the longest time, performing around the world was something Presley aimed. Ever since he had been stationed in Germany with the US Army during his service time, a period he did paused his career therefore he didn't perform while in Europe between 1958 to 1960, reporters asked him if and when that moment would come when Elvis would go back to Europe but this time for live concerts, to the thrill of his passionate fans overseas who followed him career from afar, many since the 50s. Unfortunately touring outside US (other than few performances in Canada in 1957) never seemed the get the right time.
Once Elvis begin performing live again in 1969, after he was out of the movie contracts, Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker, would always have excuses on the tip of his tongue for why an European tour, or world tour for that matter, would not be a such good idea. When Elvis received some death threats coming his way through letters sent to his crew occasionally, starting from 1969 on, those incident perfectly fit to Colonel Parker's intentions for his gold boy. Parker would use the incidents to manipulate Elvis to believe they couldn't do his security properly out of the US. Colonel would tell Presley how it would be too dangerous for him, besides they could make just as much money performing home as they have been doing so far.
Elvis never had this one dream of performing overseas coming true in his life, as much as another reunion between him and the Blue Moon Boys never came to be after the '68 Comeback Special. Scotty says that private conversation in Elvis' home (in 1968) was the last time he was together with Elvis like that, which makes this moment in history one of a kind.
youtube
During the '68 Special (sit-down concert), Scotty submits a special request to Elvis for them to play "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" together.
The song was recorded by them on February 3, 1956, at RCA studios in New York. It was released as B-side to the EP "Elvis Presley", out in September 1956. The cover shows Elvis, Scotty Moore and Bill Black performing together.
Later, the song would be featured on the LP "For Elvis Fans Only" released in 1959. Elvis would frequently include "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" to his main setlists from 1970 to 1975, occasionally performing it in 1976 and 1977.
No wonder Scotty picked this song. Maybe a subtle way of honoring late Bill Black. ♥
About their performance of this tune during the '68 Comeback Special:
As they jam together, Scotty gives a cue and Elvis tears into “Lawdy Miss Clawdy” with a raw assault of mixed emotion. His performance is so intense that it almost—in the best way—scratches the ears. Vocal cords that, so far, have proved their owner’s mastery with smooth singing are pushed to the point of fraying at the edges. As Greil Marcus noticed, when Elvis lurches into the number, what he experiences is a feeling that is both joshing and liberated. At one point, as the musicians jam together, it’s possible to hear Charlie Hodge getting carried away with laughter, as if bobbing in the fray of a heady, almost oceanic moment. In his underrated 2004 pocket volume The Rough Guide to Elvis, Paul Simpson describes “Lawdy Miss Clawdy” as “Elvis’s answer to Jack Kerouac’s On the Road.” Taking on this old staple in the Comeback, what the singer delivers is lusty, passionate, and commanding, yet also desperate, angry, and sad. He conjures with immense powers. — Mark Duffett (Counting Down Elvis - His 100 Finest Songs, 2018)

“Luffy was all kinds of stupid-cute during heat week…”
It’s been 84 years since I fanfic’d…
But I finally watched One Piece all the way through and. This. Happened…
ABO fluff, no smut, cuddles galore. Takes place on the Sunny en route to Dress Rosa. Implied one-sided pining Lawlu, mild possibly one-sided Zolu. Asexual Omega Luffy having snuggly-times with the Straw-Hats.
The Straw-Hat pirates were many things.
First and foremost: they were a band of single-minded idiots, at least as ridiculous as they were formidable.
But they were also a pack — one of the most peculiar packs Trafalgar Law had ever seen.
They were infamously unorthodox, as far as pirate crews went. Most packs are no more than 6-10 in number, so whole crews usually aren’t packs. And the packs within a single crew are normally blood-related.
Not so for the Straw-Hats. They were a small crew, and they were pack-mates not by blood but by choice.
But the part that went from uncommon to almost unheard of? The ship’s captain, the pack leader, was in fact an omega.
The rest of the crew were betas, with the exception of Roronoa Zoro, the feared alpha swordsman from East Blue. But the former pirate hunter followed his omega captain with unwavering loyalty.
Many found it puzzling. Traditionally the captain is always an alpha, the alpha of the pack in every meaning of the word. But not one of the Straw-Hats seemed bothered in the least by their upside-down ship dynamics.
And in a fight, every enemy soon learned that no one was stronger than Straw-Hat Luffy, the teenage omega with an unyielding ambition to become the king of pirates.
It was still a hard pill for some people to swallow. Omegas are thought of as physically weak, or demure, or soft-featured. But Luffy was certainly none of those things!
(…Although, he did have a bit of a baby-face.)
And every omega goes into heat, yes. But contrary to popular belief? It’s not a sustained, uncontrollably aroused state. It depends on the individual, but most omegas just become sensitive to physical touch during heat, and seek out cuddles and pettings. Nothing so debilitating as the popular beliefs about omega heats!
All the same, the Straw-Hat crew during Luffy’s heat was… quite a sight to behold.
Now, the thing about the captain of the Heart pirates? He didn’t like to appear in any way vulnerable, to either his enemies or his allies. So his expression was almost always grim. He only smiled in a devilish, cunning way that revealed no softness. It made him feel armored, somehow, if no one could tell what he really felt under his veneer of confidence.
And there was no greater threat to Trafalgar Law’s famously stoic image than unbearable cuteness.
This was why Law was prone to casting aghast glares when he was forced to behold the adorable. If he didn’t, a smile might slip - the gentle kind of smile that didn’t befit a fearsome pirate captain.
So throughout the Straw-Hat captain’s heat, the Heart pirates captain wore an even more severe glower than usual.
Because Luffy was all kinds of stupid-cute during heat week.
Ussop, Chopper and Luffy were already always all over each other, like a trio of little boys. But during Luffy’s heat?
Luffy would carry Chopper around everywhere like a stuffed toy. He’d swing on his heels side to side, tucking his chin snugly into the top of Chopper’s hat… blithely ignoring increasingly exasperated requests of “put me down, please”. To get anything done, the reindeer doctor had to shift into his heavy point form while Luffy just held on still, hanging like a cape over Chopper’s big fuzzy shoulders.
When it was Ussop’s turn (because apparently no crew member was safe from captain cuddles), Luffy typically scooped the sniper up with the same ease as he did Chopper. After dangling awkwardly over Luffy’s shoulder with a flat expression, Ussop usually could persuade his captain to ease him into a piggyback position. As long as Ussop kept his arms tight around him, Luffy seemed content to parade around with his friend on his back, giggling like a maniac even when Ussop wasn’t cracking jokes in his ear.
Nami was much more strict in her approach with heat-touchy Luffy.
“Nuh-uh, you know the drill, dummy! Let me finish what I’m doing first,” she’d snap when she was in the middle of something, and Luffy had inevitably tried to sneak a hug. He’d pout and sit impatiently on the galley floor while Nami gathered up her navigation materials off the table.
When she was ready, she would find herself a seat, pull a pillow into her lap, and turn to Luffy.
“Okay. C’mere you limpet.”
Luffy then happily bounced up and scrambled so that his head was on the pillow in Nami’s lap. She’d make a show of sighing like it was a huge chore while she scratched and ruffled at his black head of hair. But she couldn’t help a small, fond smile as she shook her head.
That sleepy-kitten smile on the strawhat captain’s face as he nestled into the pillow and outright purred… it was so adorable, Law contemplated clawing his own damn eyes out.
Brook, Franky and Robin gave no sign that anything the omega did with them was less than a normal, everyday occurrence.
It had taken Law a moment to even notice something amiss when Brook walked by him. None of the crew looked twice at the sight, and the skeleton man himself carried his lanky form much the same as always.
Law had to do a double-take when he realized that there was something attached to one of Brook’s legs. Wrapped like a bandage around his shin was one rubbery omega captain, hanging on like a toddler riding his mother’s ankles.
Brook merely refilled and sipped from his teacup, apparently unbothered.
Law had noticed before that the musician wore the highest quality cloth. His trousers in particular were made of the softest materials, maybe to compensate for his harsh and uninviting bone body. Luffy seemed happy enough to rub his cheek against the fabric like a cat, despite the lack of flesh or body heat underneath.
When it came to the Straw-Hat’s shipwright, Luffy preferred to sling his body over the cyborg’s enormous shoulders like a scarf. He dangled upside down on one side of Franky, the rest of him hanging over the other side in an inhuman stretch. It didn’t seem to hinder Franky in his work. He did pause sometimes to show Luffy an invention or upgrade up-close, or to pop out the smaller mechanical hand inside his big hand to boop the omega’s nose.
The high-pitched squawk Luffy made at that was gut-bustingly cute.
And then there was Robin…
The so-called Devil Child’s serene smile grew a little when her captain stumbled over to her, usually at the end of the day after running around with Ussop and Chopper. He didn’t need to say a word. She would simply sit on the floor and gesture to her lap, and he’d plop drowsily right into her arms.
If she didn’t already have a book in hand, she’d grab one and settle herself so that Luffy was strewn over her lap like an overgrown puppy. She sprouted extra hands to simultaneously hold up her book and squeeze Luffy’s spindly limbs to herself.
Sanji tended to comment that he wished he were in Robin’s arms like that, in an annoying, singsongy voice. This was ignored by all.
But then, the Straw-Hat’s cook could not escape his own round of cuddle-attacks from Luffy.
The blond crewman was always going out of his way to proclaim his eternal infatuation with any and all woman-folk. While he was actually quite friendly with the men in his crew (except for the swordsman, for reasons unknown to Law), he didn’t fawn over them the way he would the female crew members.
True to his lady’s man image, Sanji would complain at first when Luffy glomped him from behind. He’d insist that he didn’t want a man clinging to him, making halfhearted efforts to shake Luffy off. But he gave that up pretty quick. As Sanji assumed a defeated posture, Luffy clamped onto him like a backpack and peered with interest at the food he was preparing.
Sanji then entered an obviously familiar routine of catching and batting away stretchy hands out of ingredients, maneuvering expertly around the kitchen as though he wasn’t weighed down by a cuddly omega captain on his back. Occasionally he held a spoon up to let Luffy have a taste of something. Luffy’s face would light right up and Sanji’s eyes would soften. The kid clearly loved Sanji’s food, and Sanji clearly couldn’t help but spoil the kid just a little.
The last crew member, Zoro, almost seemed to be avoiding Luffy.
That wasn’t all too surprising. The swordsmen was an alpha, after all. Law was too, but he wasn’t that affected by heat pheromones. They just made him a little antsy.
It varies from alpha to alpha, but some have more severe reactions to omega heats. Intense mood fluctuations are common, as well as mild-to-moderate physical discomfort. Or it could be vice versa; the omega could have an adverse reaction to a specific alpha’s pheromones during their heat.
They would have known by now if Luffy had that problem with Law’s pheromones, though. So Law didn’t bother to evade the omega altogether.
Law could only assume Zoro and Luffy just weren’t comfortable around each other during high-pheromone production periods (which Law would never admit made him feel a bit superior to the other alpha, because there was no cause to boast about pheromone compatibility with a dumbass like Straw-Hat Luffy).
But then one afternoon Law finally saw them.
He’d been looking for a quiet corner to get a much needed break from the boisterous Straw-Hats, and decided to try the crow’s nest. But once he reached it he stopped with a jolt.
There, propped against the mast at the center of the nest, was Zoro and Luffy.
Zoro hadn’t been avoiding Luffy. He probably just didn’t want the others to see this… because the alpha and the omega were napping together in an embarrassingly sweet embrace.
The rubber captain sat at a straddle in his first mate’s lap. Smushing the side of his face against Zoro’s chest, Luffy had his arms wrapped all the way around them both in a stretchy loop that came back to his own shoulders. One of Zoro’s bulky arms was draped lazily over Luffy’s waist, while the other arm pillowed the back of his own head.
The two highest-bounty Straw-Hats, all soft and cuddled up? It was too compromising a position for a pirate captain and his first mate!
Law took a second too long just staring.
Even though Zoro was always napping, he was a light sleeper. His one good eye snapped open almost right away and fixed on Law. A growl slipped out of the half-awake swordsman. It was probably just instinct, sleepy brain only processing that another alpha was in the same space as his in-heat captain.
Law was still irked by it.
Up until now, Zoro had shown the good sense not to provoke the other alpha during this tenuous alliance. Now he had the audacity not only to growl at him, but to do it with a snoozing Luffy in his lap. For some reason that made it so much more annoying.
So Law sneered and turned up his nose. “Comfortable?” he asked snidely.
He was unreasonably bothered by the protective grip Zoro tightened on Luffy.
Although a faint blush rose in the swordsman’s face, his eye narrowed and he looked like he was about to retort.
Instead Zoro was interrupted by Luffy stirring slightly against him.
Both alphas’ attentions turned immediately to the omega. But he didn’t wake. Luffy just nuzzled against his crew mate and made a funny little lip-smacking noise. After mumbling something that sounded suspiciously like “meat”, he went quiet again.
Law wasn’t able to appreciate the uncharacteristic warmth overtaking Zoro’s expression. He was in no position to tease or condescend to the younger alpha - not with how unfairly cute the sleepy omega was being. It was a hard sucker punch to the ego.
The surgeon of death only huffed, trying to sound disgusted, and chose to use his devil fruit power to teleport out of there. His chest was clenching and Law knew it had nothing to do with cardiac or respiratory health. So Law glared at the floor and willed himself to calm down.
It was bad enough that anyone, anything, was making his heart palpitate like this. That it was over a rival pirate captain was even more humiliating.
He couldn’t even blame it on heat pheromones. It wasn’t the omega’s scent, or the faint tug of instinct in Law’s alpha hindbrain.
It was the look on that doe-eyed face when Luffy’s pack showed him their affection. It was the puppyish wiggle in his body when Luffy was getting himself comfortable on someone’s lap or back. It was the childish giggling Luffy would start up unprovoked, which eventually faded into sleepy purring.
It was that Luffy was just so cute, damn it!!
#one piece#lawlu#zolu#Luffy#omegaverse#abo#fanfiction#not edited enough#currently cuts off might continue eventually#just too tempting to write about Luffy as everyone’s baby#Luffy is baby#very mild ABO dynamics btw#omega luffy#straw hats#law x luffy#atm one-sided but could change#slight Zoro x Luffy#mostly fraternal/queer platonic#putting it here for now instead of AO3 bc it’s still bakiiiiing

GMMTV 2024 PART 2 Unhinged Tangent Thoughts (Only The Queers Though)
Ossan’s Love Thailand รักนี้ให้ "นาย": oh here we go again for the third times. i'm still skeptical about it and Chakrit Yamnam definitely is not an ossan yet but... damnnnnn my inner slut for older men sense is tingling, i know gmmtv just gonna keep doing this boring BL idol pairs nonsense, but like can we get more older gays/age gap BLs? i haven't seen Chakrit in ages and that man still so damn fine! he and our honorary uncle earth could've been something that thai BL is currently lacking, a sloppy hotmess Daddies. but alas that will remain a dream for now.
The Heart Killers เขาจ้างให้ผมจีบนักฆ่า: i haven't watch the Eclipse yet and really didn't liked both Star In My Mind and Hidden Agenda and definitely never gonna watch Only Friend (seen all the sex scenes though.) i loved the chaotic energy the trailer giving and i'm always a sucker for black comedy (don't know if this show gonna be that but fingercrossed) when it done correctly. also this show better serve us so many leather bad boy looks. i may have not be completely sold on this show yet, but i'm horny for it.
สายรหัสเทวดา Perfect10 Liners: "Too Many Cooks repeated for several minutes" i'm going to be there for forcebook and juniormark but like wtf in frash glee hell is this, most of these mofos are pushing 30. let them be adults god danm it, i know that the target demographic for gmmtv is young adults and teenagers and that they really love/good at??? school settings. but come on let's our peter pans and wendies fly free. they're probably bored out of their fucking minds by now.
Us รักของเรา | GMMTV 2024 PART 2: i'm gonna be a good little homo and let's all the great wlws do all the talking for this show. i'm not keen on the sibling's lover stealing trope but hey as the great Lucille Bluth one said, good for her.
Thame - Po (เธม-โป้): HEART THAT SKIPS A BEAT: hehehe, Est is so pretty, ok i'm sold i'm easy like that. i was never into any boy bands as a teen, but there like a lot of former thai boy bands members that came out as gay in recent years so maybe i shouda had. anywhoo i probably not gonna mind the singing and dancing in this show since most of them going to be done by singers/dancers and not actors turned idols.
REVAMP THE UNDEAD STORY: i'm really not into serious vempires so this show is kinda meh for me. the goofy ones though those i'd have eat up. this one probably a pass for me.
แฟนที่ทันตแพทย์ส่วนใหญ่แนะนำ Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist: all my blorbos are here we get mark, baby ohm, poon, and หมอjim. ahhhhhhh!! i need it now. i also don't mind dentists like most people especially when they're good looking guys, those handsome doctors can put anything in my mouth😉
เพราะแฟนเก่าเปลี่ยนแปลงบ่อย The Ex-Morning: is this going to be our second coming BL? idk i never there for first one 😝this show either going to be a good meta commentary about the whole business that gone down or its head going be so up it own ass that will take several bottles of lube to get the head out to see the sunlight. we'll see.

I cannot be the only Beatles fan drawing parallels with One Direction right now.
16th October, Liam Payne dies, falling from his balcony. 8 years after the band split up, a band that was together for 6 years (2010-2016)
I thought about the Beatles, how they’d been together for 8 years (1962-1970) granted john, paul and george knew each other since 1957/58.
Both bands took off when they were roughly the same age. Both bands had not very long careers. And yes I’m incredibly biased and so I don’t think that they had the same cultural significance, but were both bands subjected to an incredibly insane level of fandom? hell yeah, and while I’d argue with the internet existing in 1D’s time, they probably dealt with it worse- the concept of boy band fandoms and celebrity worship were so new during The Beatles era that while it may seem mild compared to fandoms in the age of the internet, since it was new it probably felt just as scary and intense.
And then I thought about Liam’s death, about how John died 10 years after the band split up. And well when Liam died, as someone who was alive during the 1D era (never became a fan but hell yeah I was singing and dancing to all their chart toppers) the first thought that came to my head was wow, the 1D era feels like such a long time ago, his death felt so very separated from “a member of the former band One Direction dies”
And with sadness I very quickly thought about John and how he died 10 years after the band split, even longer, and well, did The Beatles connection feel forced then? We look back with nostalgia and love, but on that very day he died and news spread, did The Beatles feel like something of so long ago?
And I haven’t kept up with 1D at all but I do know some of the members were on good terms and good friends but I bet it was more on the lines of “oh you and I were together at a very pivotal points of our lives” a very nostalgia based friendship if you will, and so when Liam died, I do not doubt for a second they were in shock and their hearts broke at the news, but did it feel like when you’ve heard your old best friend from school passed away or did it feel like your brother passed away? And with sadness I ask the same question for when John died, hoping it’s the second answer.
And I’d hate to think the first answer was true for when John died, and truly I don’t think it is. I think the music community was so much more tight knit back then, there really wasn’t that sheer volume of top artists like we have today. Also their solo careers were all very successful from the get go, their names still always floating around in tabloids- which is also true for the 1D members in some regard but the truth is in the age of the internet and a massive volume of artists in the music industry, they’ve definitely floated away which didn’t really happen to The Beatles if you get what I mean. And so I think they were in some ways closer after the band split than the members of One Direction was?
And Liam from whatever little tidbits I find on the internet seems to have not been a very great person and so his death initially (well maybe still is) was tainted by a lot of that and I thought about how John also wasn’t a perfect person either and when he died where there people that thought the same? I’d hope not. But also John’s solo career was a million miles ahead of even the peak of Liam’s solo career and so his death must have had more gravity in that sense.
I don’t know I guess I just found it bizarre how when we talk about The Beatles, John’s death 10 years after the band broke up felt so much more consecutive whereas having lived these 8 years after 1D broke up and Liam dying, I realise how much time must have really passed.

Big Time Rush OC Introductions
I was a ginormous fan of Big Time Rush when I was young so, I see people I follow making BTR ocs and I have no choice but to agree so after some struggles here we have (there will end up being others I'm sooooo sure of it I already have another fc in mind)
Montgomery Queen (Jeremy Shada FC), Carlos Garcia ship. Goes by Monty, he is the bassist and backup vocalist in his own band that he has been in since he was 14. As the youngest member of his band, he's the only one that lives at the Palm Woods, though he meets the boys late because he was on tour when they first moved in. He gets involved in the boys' shenanigans pretty quickly.
Serenity Meyer (Virginia Gardner FC), James Diamond ship. A former religious cult choir singer that, following her excommunication, has made her way to Los Angeles to be a singer. She's very new at most teenager things, and luckily Jo lets her live with her at the Palm Woods when she hears about her story, but the boys are very happy to help her figure out how to be a teen.
Juniper Poole (Olivia Rose Keegan FC), Kendall Knight ship. A child Broadway star, Juniper has always lived in New York City and that's where she was intending on always living. But then she gets cast in a movie, and her father/manager doesn't want to pass up the opportunity, so while she's filming and doing promo, she gets to stay at the Palm Woods. Which leads to her meeting the boys of Big Time Rush.
Vera Hewitt (Courtney Eaton FC), Logan Mitchell ship. Vera's one of the most well known young figure skaters around, bronze medalist two years in a row at the Olympics, gold at the Grand Prix more than she can count, there was not a name in sports that wasn't as known. Then she gets hurt. A bad fall leads to an early end and needing money for her family, cue sponsorship commercials and guest tv spots and moving to Los Angeles, where she met some hockey playing boys that may help her get back on the ice.
Gideon Gardner (Cameron Gellman FC), Kendall Knight, James Diamond, Carlos Garcia, and Logan Mitchell ship. Being from Minnesota, Gideon had grown up with the boys, playing hockey with them and having a good time when they hung out after games. Then, they got the opportunity of a lifetime and left. So Gideon was on his own, until his little sister got cast in some pre-teen show and they were moving to Los Angeles, coincidentally, to the Palm Woods, where he got to see the boys again and realize he's missed them much more than a normal friend would.
Tagging @daughter-of-melpomene because BTR!!

more zayn and y/n moments?? i feel like they have the most adorable friendship everrr ❤️❤️❤️
love your work ❤️🔥
oh there's so many!
So you all know when the band first started, all Zayn would say is Vas Happening?! Well, YN's thing was always saying Aye Oh!
So whenever the cameras would point to them during their fetus era, he would throw an arm over her shoulder and they'd just yell their sayings super duper loudly while making a funny face.
...
During the band's third tour, the two of them would spend some time with their vocal coach in one of the smaller green rooms to go over their harmonies together.
The song they loved to perform together was Right Now because they shared the chorus.
So when they would hit those harmonies perfectly (like they always did), they would give each other a nod of approval, a smug look on their faces before giving each other a high five.
...
YN knew that while he usually presented himself with a hard exterior, she knew that he was a soft teddy bear once you got to know him. One of the activities that she would partake in with him was art. She knew she was shit at it, but she also knew that he loved it.
So during the long rides on the tour bus crossing from one city to another, sitting next to each other during an album signing/meet & greet, or stuck in their hotel rooms, she'd be there with a piece of paper and some type of writing utensil for them to draw whatever came to mind.
There was even an interview in 2014 when they were doing for their new book "Who We Are" where Zayn spent the majority of the time drawing on YN's arm. With a ball point pen, the beautiful mandalas he drew on her skin left her beaming and utterly speechless.
...
There's no denying the fact that those two were the most fashionable members of the band. With Zayn's cool, suave, bad boy style and YN's good girl aesthetic, photoshoots with them were easy and right on the money.
...
For the Night Changes music video, YN was the stand-in for basically all of the boys (except Liam who actually had his girlfriend on set). With each date, she took on the role with some seriousness, acting as if the boys were really taking her on a date.
For Zayn's part, YN actually dressed in a formal black dress to really get into character.
Needless to say, she really got a kick out of making her usually quiet band member laugh throughout the shoot. Like when Ben Winston directed him to offer her some of his spaghetti, she let out a playful sigh of relief, "Yes please. Do you see the sad fookin' excuse of a salad they gave meh?"
Or when her "ex-boyfriend" interrupted her date with Zayn, she actually played along and had an argument with him with a fake backstory she made up: "Johnathan?! What are yeh doing here? I told you to leave me alone. No, I'm over you. No. I'm sorry but I just can't listen to you rant about your Barbie doll collection any longer!"
And when the ex-boyfriend dumps the food on Zayn, as soon as the director yelled cut!, YN quickly got up from her seat and got all up in the building of a man's face (really his chest from how tall the actor was) and says with a deep voice, "the fook man!" But her facade lasted all but 2 seconds before her and everyone just burst out laughing.
...
Since the band's formation, Zayn always had and continues to have a soft spot for YN.
He still views her as a little sister and while they don't talk as much as they used to during their time in 1D, there's not a single birthday, holiday, anniversary, etc. that hasn't gone by without a text between the former band members.

“ come cry to me, baby, cry to me, pretty baby cry to me that you’re born as someone you don’t want to be… ” – 4 Syllables, life of a woman
Back in the first days of Total Drama, you could not go a day without hearing someone call this contestant weird or off-putting in a way. Her poor hygiene, lack of social skills, and her habits of interrupting others to correct them on their mistakes quickly earned her a reputation that she couldn’t be proud of.
Despite this, she actually managed to make some friends on the show, and she fell for one girl in particular… who never saw her as more than a friend, despite kissing her once or twice. Ouch.
Now, she travels the world alongside three fellow former contestants. Their multi-genre band, 4 Syllables, is one of the most famous in the world, their concerts always being outsold minutes after the tickets go live. They’ve visited every continent and made sure everyone knows their name. Most importantly, they’ve shown a younger generation of queer people they can live in pride of who they are.
Fans of TDI and 4 Syllables alike will be happy to hear that our next contestant is… Victoria Meredith Laurel Alice McGrady V! Or Vickie for short… Jeez, that girl’s name is a mouthful.
“I figure everyone will be saying this, but I’m over the show, and I don’t want to come back. I’m more than happy as I am; touring the world with Cody, Trent and Justin, who have become my family, in a sense… But, of course, you’ll need the ratings, won’t you, Chris? And what better member of 4S to have on the show than the publicly trans woman? I mean, I guess the publicly trans man would do, too, but you love the shock, don’t you? You were always the most childish of us all, despite our younger age than yours…
“Well, anyways, I suppose I can come back. There’s not much harm in it… I’m still as skilled yet awkward as I was in my teenage years; the fans will love that.
“Have I said how much I hate you, McLane? Because I really, really do. At least there’s a chance you’ve also decided to invite Leshawna back on... But I know she’ll want to be here even less than I do.”
How far will Vickie get? Only time will tell, here on Total Drama: The Bridge Between Generations!
coming soon to an AO3 near you.
questions, concerns, suggestions to be deposited in the ask box.

By Hollie Geraghty | 22nd June 2023
Niall Horan has said that he believes One Direction are still close because the band “never believed the hype”.
The Irish musician, who released his third solo studio album ‘The Show’ earlier this month, parted ways with One Direction when they split in 2016.
However, the band members – Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik – remain close, according to Horan.
“I just think we never believed the hype,” Horan said in a new interview with Sunday TODAY, after host Willie Geist noted how the boy band avoided the “fire” that has damaged other groups in the past.
He went on: “As I said, the state of shock was always there. You have to remember, it was us, our team, our bubble around us, and we just went from place to place worldwide and kind of went along with it. If you’re looking in, it must have looked crazy, and everybody’s going, ‘You’re in the biggest band!’ We were just having a great time. We always used to say we’re normal people doing an abnormal job, which is a good outlook to have.”
The singer also recalled the name of their 2014 stadium tour ‘Where We Are’, “because we always used to be like, ‘Look where we are!'”
He went on: “Every now and then you catch yourself just like looking at each other going, ‘This is nuts’.”
Horan also said that “thankfully” the feeling has never gotten old, adding: “I love it.”
The full interview is set to air on Sunday (June 25) on Sunday TODAY.
In another recent interview, Horan said that he sometimes sends his solo music to his former bandmates for feedback.
“Not every time, but if I feel like I need an opinion, I always send it out,” the singer told Esquire.
“This time I sent it to Louis, and he gave me his honest opinion on it, which is always handy,” Horan said, referencing ‘The Show’.
“We’ve released enough songs over the years, so we know what’s decent and what’s not. All the 1D boys and artists alike, I’ll always try and send it around and get everybody’s opinion.”
The former group have shown each other support publicly in recent months. Styles thanked his ex-bandmates after he was named Artist Of The Year at the 2023 BRIT Awards.
In a recent interview with NME, Horan said of his new album: “The last time I wrote an album I did less thinking. You don’t in your early 20s, you don’t think too much at all – well I didn’t anyway, probably just immaturity of me.

The fascinating emptiness of one Mr. Louis Tomlinson
Simone De Aurevoir
Feb 20, 2024
Four months ago I went to a concert. The exact city, venue and date doesn’t matter, and you will understand why it doesn’t matter in just a moment. The concert in question was given by Louis Tomlinson, a former member of One Direction, and what I experienced that night was so odd, so puzzling, so fascinating, that I couldn’t help but write it down. Allow me to explain.
The concert took place on a Tuesday evening. It is part of his Faith in the Future tour, and I was accompanying a close friend who is a huge “Louie”, as his fans are called. (Despite the difference in spelling, the man’s name and his fandom are actually pronounced the same way.) I joined her mostly out of solidarity and a little bit out of morbid curiosity. She had previously given me only small glimpses into the Louis Tomlinson fandom, and as a pop culture enthusiast, naturally I was intrigued by this window into an obscure cultural bubble. I remember thinking, “It might be interesting to see what she’s so obsessed with”.
Her first act of initiation had been to take me to see All of Those Voices, the documentary movie about Louis Tomlinson‘s life after One Direction, which depicted his chain smoking Northern English charm, his image of the humble underdog, and the unexpected upwards trajectory of his career over the last five years. It had also instilled in me a vague sense of fear of the fandom. Then again, the intensity of the Gospel is always off putting to atheists, so I thought nothing more of it.
Knowing that football/soccer games dictate which colors to wear and which to avoid, I had half-jokingly asked my friend about taboo colors the day before, not really expecting an answer. Immediately, she texts back — “Don’t wear green, and avoid any obvious combinations of blue and green.” If you’re feeling a sense of foreboding right now, that’s the right instinct.
On the night of the concert, we arrive at the 15,000 seat arena in the brisk evening air. To my surprise, the concrete vestibule is almost empty, save for the small crowd clustering around a merch stand. “They’re all already inside”, my friend explains confidently. We enter through the main entrance into the stuffy warmth of the lobby, through security, past another overcrowded merch stand, and through the soundproofed swinging doors into the main concert hall.
I suddenly feel very small as I enter this gigantic darkened arena space, where the air is even warmer, and buzzing with excitement. Indeed, everybody else is already here. The show won’t actually start for an hour, but the arena is already fully packed. We squeeze past a long row of excited faces to get to our seats, where the local chapter of Louis’s fan club has deposited some items for audience interaction: a blank white sheet of paper and a little snippet of red transparent tracing paper, both with instructions for how and when to hold them up.
While we’re settling in, the second of the two opening bands is already playing — a forgettable mess of clichés from Northern England. “As a white indie boy, Louis tours exclusively with other white indie boys”, my friend remarks with cheeky self awareness. While the clichés are playing, we look around the sold out arena. The two of us are only a little bit younger than Louis himself, which makes us some of the oldest people in the venue (not counting the occasional parental custodians who accompany their teen children).

To me, it looks like we’re just two old pieces of driftwood in a sea of teeth in braces, puffy cheeks and pigtail buns, but my friend explains to me what I’m really seeing. “See that guy over there? That shirt is a Doncaster Jersey with Louis’s team number.” Or: “This girl in front of us? That’s a handmade replica of a t-shirt Louis wore on tour in 2016.” Already, I am amazed at the depth of not just her knowledge, but everybody’s knowledge of the history of this Louis Tomlinson. And then, to my delight, we actually see the forbidden combo: a girl wearing two glow-in-the-dark bracelets next to each other; one blue, one green.
It’s at this point that I finally get an explanation of the meaning behind the colors: Back when the band was still active, all five members of One Direction had a color assigned to them, based on their mic colors at live shows. Harry Styles was green, Zayn Malik was yellow, Liam Payne was red, Louis Tomlinson was blue, and Niall Horan was white. Therefore, wearing blue would symbolize fandom of Louis; wearing, say, red would be an indicator of favoring Liam, and green would symbolize fandom of Harry Styles. And wearing blue and green together would… well, we’ll get to that in a moment.
Since this is Louis’s concert, you might think that the audience would be a sea of exclusively blue clothing, but there is actually a notable amount of rainbow accessories — capes, earrings, fans, etc. — that make for an overall colorful impression.
I wonder out loud how it is possible that somebody who was big with teenagers in the early 2010s has so many teenage fans in 2023. After all, when I was a teenager myself in the late 2000s, it would have seemed unspeakably ridiculous if I had stanned, let’s say, the Spice Girls. (I’m not even sure I was aware of the Spice Girls back then.)
My friend, ever helpful, explains to me that most younger fans came across the fandom in 2020, facilitated by YouTube, Twitter, Tumblr, and pandemic-induced boredom.
Tumblr especially is infamous for its ability to grow and nurture expansive fandoms of pop culture items for years on end, even if the source material is long past its relevance peak (see Supernatural), its quality peak (see Doctor Who) or both (see Sherlock).
The momentum of Louis’ fandom on social media even led to the unusual phenomenon of venues getting bigger every time his concerts were rescheduled due to the pandemic. And this is when it starts to dawn on me. I am not attending a concert; I am witnessing a Tumblr dashboard come to life.
I’m just about to share this thought with my friend when the background music cuts off mid-song, the lights drop, and the sudden darkness comes with a piercing collective shriek that makes the earplugs flutter in my ear canal.
The band comes in first, taking their places. After barely a beat of pause, Louis walks onstage, with messy hair, wearing a tank top and designer sweatpants, walking at a matter-of-fact pace. I assume the shrieking got even louder, but at this noise level it was hard to tell.
Louis takes his place behind the mic stand in the middle and immediately launches into the first song, The Greatest — a stadium anthem basically written explicitly for this spot on the setlist. Not wasting any time on greetings or announcements, he immediately follows up with the other big hit, Kill My Mind. From there, directly onto Bigger Than Me, another stadium-ready rock pop number.
I’m alarmed as I suddenly realize that the only catchy, recognizable songs have come and gone, ushering in the phase of uninterrupted filler songs. (I had dutifully listened to the tour setlist multiple times in preparation for the concert, but my brain just wouldn’t latch on to anything beyond the first three songs.)
At this point, I’m worried this will be a repeat of that time when I went to see P!nk live in concert and noticed too late that I knew none of her songs from after 2005. However, P!nk is a charismatic person and a great live singer who was doing somersaults on a bungee rope as 10 dancers were trampolining and performing aerial acrobatics around her.
Louis is not on a bungee rope. There are no dancers, there is no set piece, there is no stage show, no performance, no outfit changes, no real interaction with the band, and no traditional crowd work. He simply stands behind the mic, singing his songs, the screens above him showing live closeups of his face in black and white, and I’m not sure he smiles even once. For a teen heartthrob, he’s… not very throbby.
(His outfit, by the way, will already have been documented and analyzed by a dedicated Instagram account, @fashionlouist, the owners of which can somehow identify the exact brand and name of each piece he’s wearing within the first 20 minutes of every show. His sweatpants today cost £380.)

After the fourth song, Louis finally addresses the audience. “(City), make some noise!” He thanks the two opening acts, and points out that this is one of the loudest crowds he has ever had. That’s it. I’m amused at how his lines are almost comically generic, but my friend explains what I’m not getting: “He always thanks the band, and he always says this wouldn’t be possible without the fans. And he wouldn’t say that if he didn’t mean it. And he only says something about the venue when it’s a really special one.”
She doesn’t see his boilerplate statements as him being uninterested or uninteresting. She sees consistency and authenticity, and judging by the beaming smiles all around me, so does everybody else.
Similarly, his outfit may look to me like he tried to make the least amount of effort, but the fandom like that he is “finally getting more comfortable wearing what he wants”.
In case you’re wondering, Louis’s appeal doesn’t lie in his singing skills either — his pitch gets shaky when the melody dips below the falsetto range, but he is clearly making a great effort in this department. Live singing is hard, and for the most part he’s doing a good job at it.
The interchangeable songs go on for a while, and still the elated fans around me seem to know every syllable. It is very warm, very loud, and for an outsider like me, very boring.
I go outside multiple times to have water, to get another beer, to go to the bathroom. I can’t help but notice that I am the only one in my row leaving her seat during the show. Everybody smiles politely as they let me squeeze past, but every time I do it I’m keenly aware of how inappropriate my behavior is. No one else seems to need or want a break.
In the ghostly emptiness outside I overhear a member of the bar staff complaining about the awful evening. At first I don’t understand what they could possibly find offensive about this quintessentially inoffensive music, but it later dawns on me that they were probably referring to the complete lack of beer and concessions sales. Most attendees are either too young to drink legally or too young to want to spend 6,50€ on a beer. Most of them seem to be sharing one cup of water, and no one is leaving during the concert to go to the bar for a refill.
Down the hall, I hear yelling and commotion which turns out to be paramedics on their way outside, transporting a passed-out teenage fan on a stretcher, accompanied by their panicked friend.
When I return to my seat, everybody around me is still scream-singing along to every single word of every single song, including my friend. They are having a great time. It looks like I missed out on “She Is Beauty We Are World Class“, which, as I had learned earlier that evening, is the song his fans collectively take as an opportunity to show off their rainbow flags and create a queer-accepting atmosphere at the show. Though Louis is, by all accounts, a cishet man, the One Direction fandom has a very, let’s say, specific relationship to queerness and queer symbols. More on that in just a moment.
My ears perk up for a bit when Louis gets to Back to You, a label-mandated collab with Digital Farm Animals and Bebe Rexha from 2017. He plays an altered version of the song with more of a rock sound, but it still stands out to me simply for using different chord progressions than all his other songs.
Funnily enough, in the lyrics of another song (We Made It), he directly addresses this qualm of mine: “Singing something poppy on the same four chords, used to worry about it but I don‘t no more“. To his credit, he really doesn’t pretend to be more than he is — that’s all other people‘s doing. Let me explain.
Not counting parents or outsiders like myself, there are three groups of people in this room: former fans of One Direction, Underdog Cheerleaders, and Larry Stylinson conspiracy theorists.
The first group is easy to explain and even easier to relate to: they were big fans of One Direction (or “1D”), and since that band doesn’t exist anymore, the closest thing to it are the concerts by its former members, all of whom have embarked on solo careers. These fans are the ones who visibly come to life during the two 1D songs that Louis plays this evening; and the ones waving the huge rainbow flag with all five 1D members printed on it. (Again, more on that in a second.)
The second group, whom I call the Underdog Cheerleaders, are the group that my friend belongs to. These are the people who are convinced that there was a grand plan by 1D’s management to make Harry Styles the breakout star of the group, and to suppress the careers of all other members for that reason.
But because they, the true fans, appreciate Louis for exactly what he is, they will do anything they can to support this underdog millionaire, whether by making his songs chart by listening at the same time, buying tickets to his livestream performance during Covid, or writing to the BBC to beg them to stop blacklisting his music. (Whether that was ever actually the case is unconfirmed.)
For them, the appeal lies not in his singing, his performance, or songwriting skills. The qualities that are always repeated when people praise Louis Tomlinson are that he is humble and down to earth; a simple lad from a working class family in northern England.
This is pointed out in every single write up about this man. His humanity is further compounded by the untimely deaths of his mother and sister within a few years of each other while he was ascending to solo fame. For the Underdog Cheerleaders, it’s not about music so much as it is about identifying with, celebrating and uplifting the least memorable person in a lineup of five.
And the third group… they are the ones who would purposely pair blue with green. These are the so-called Larries, the people who ship Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson as a couple.
You can find a great deep dive on the topic here, but the long and short of it is this: While there were ships for almost all possible combinations between the five members of One Direction (resulting in droll ship names such as Nouis or Ziall), the Larry ship was by far the most popular.
The ideological overlap between the Underdog Cheerleaders and the Larries is not zero, but while the cheerleaders just want to see the nice guy win, the Larries also want the nice guy (and Harry Styles) to come out as gay.
They are willing to accept any explanation, however flawed or implausible, for why Louis and Harry have yet to come out as a couple even though they have definitely secretly been together for a decade now and their respective heterosexual partners are absolutely paid actors and they even totally have a secret baby together.
The lack of evidence, the repeated denials by the two men in question and their polite but increasingly desperate requests to stop the madness have only fueled the fire.
The one thing that all three groups share is that for all of them, Louis’s public perception is forever tied up with the existence of Harry Styles. Whether he wants to or not, Louis is forever defined against his more popular former band mate, whether as his colleague, competitor, villain, or lover.
It’s about an hour and a half into the show as I allow myself a peek at the set list on my phone. We’re finally nearing the end. Watching the unsmiling face of Louis Tomlinson, I’m wondering — is he enjoying himself? Who even is this person?

By seeing this image, you have experienced the complete stage show of the “Faith in the Future” tour. Photograph by Steve Jennings
The encore consists of three songs. When Louis gets to the last one, he descends into the pit. Still singing, he walks up to the first row who have been camping outside since the day before in order to get this spot. He touches a few of the outstretched hands, walks along the front row to the left, bends into the crowd for a few seconds, and when he reappears he no longer has his tank top on. His fans have ripped it off his body. He retreats back onto the stage, says a few polite words of thanks, and disappears.
And then, the magic is over as quickly as it began. The lights turn on, background music plays, and people immediately start filing out in an orderly manner. Some are clasping the red confetti bands that rained over the audience during the last song, and their faces look like they will treasure this souvenir forever. In the chilly darkness outside, a well-informed busker with a guitar sings songs by Louis and 1D, and a small crowd gathers around him to sing along while waiting for the shuttle bus back to the city.
At the end of the night, I’m left wondering what all these thousands of young fans really care about. Even though everybody knows all the music by heart, it doesn’t really seem to be about the music. And even though there’s a throng of fans crowded around the stage exit for a chance to wave at the tour bus with Louis in it, I don’t know whether this really has anything to do with him personally.
Because at its innermost core, this fandom is about itself. Not in the sense of its specific members — I didn’t see many fans interacting and making new friends — but rather, the fandom as an abstract entity.
It’s the joy of belonging to an in-group; of sending and receiving signals that only the initiated will understand. The firm belief that you’re backing the right horse, that you’re part of something “Bigger Than Me”, that there is a purpose to your music listening.
Who is Louis Tomlinson? I still have no idea, and neither does it really matter. Nobody else cares. They will make Louis Tomlinson into whatever they need him to be.

LINK TO VIDEO INTERVIEW
Former member of the British boy band One Direction, Louis Tomlinson will perform, in May, three shows in Brazil. It will be the third time that the musician will perform in the country, an experience that, according to him, is always chaotic - and "in the best possible sense". This is what the singer said to g1, in an interview held at Allianz Parque, where he will play in São Paulo, on May 11.
The shows are from the "Faith in the Future" tour, in which Louis returns to his latest album, released in 2022. The setlist also involves songs from the album "Walls" and, of course, One Direction hits.
Fever among children and adolescents in the 2010s, the pop group was formed from the TV show "The X Factor" and lasted six years, breaking up in 2016. Since then, the musicians have followed a solo career. A fact that, in Louis' eyes, is inevitably competitive.
"Your only reference is to compare yourself with the other members," said the Englishman. "You start to think, 'If they're getting this, why am I not getting it?'"
On Spotify, the number of monthly listeners among artists differs a lot. The most popular star of the divorced boy band, Harry Styles has about 58.2 million. Next are Zayn Malik (27.3 million), Niall Horan (17.3 million), Liam Payne (5.7 million) and Louis (2.9 million).
But if success meters like this were once a burden for the musician, today they are no longer, according to him, who also made a point of reiterating that he has always been proud of his friends.
In the interview, the musician also commented on subjects such as the conspiracy theories that describe him as a partner of Styles, the changes of concept between his albums, a Brazilian remix of his "Kill My Mind" - from the funkeiro FP of Trem Bala -, and his interest in fashion
g1 - What is the main difference between the Louis Tomlinson of the X Factor, 2010 and the Louis Tomlinson of today?
Louis Tomlinson - There is a lot of naivete in the boy who appeared in the X Factor. I really didn't know what I was getting into. I didn't know how that would put me sitting here. I definitely had no idea what I was acquiring.
I think I feel much more fulfilled. More confident. It took me a while to have enough courage to say: 'I'm creative, I'm a singer, I'm a composer
Now, I'm just internalizing all these feelings. When you grow up in a place like Doncaster, where I grew up, it takes a while to believe in all these things. Because you only watched it from afar, on TV or on the radio. So, when you become one of these people, there is a whole process until you believe and understand everything.
g1 - And what is the greatest similarity?
Louis Tomlinson - Probably my appearance (laughs). Well, I hope my fans don't correct me here. I like to think that I've always had a very lovely relationship with them. I think that's the only constant thing.
g1 - Do you know any Brazilian singer or band?
Louis Tomlinson - We were talking today about Anitta. And hm... Fresh? Fre? Fresno? I'm learning. I hope [the confusion with the band's name] didn't sound disrespectful, it wasn't my intention.
Do you have any recommendations for me? I got some tips today. What do you have for me?
g1 - There is a Brazilian musician called FP do Trem Bala. He made a remix of 'Kill My Mind'...
Louis Tomlinson - That's cool! So far, you were the one who made the best recommendation. Definitely.
g1 - Can I show you?
Louis Tomlinson - Of course!
youtube
g1 - What's up? Did you like it? Is there anything you would like to say to the FP of the Bullet Train?
Louis Tomlinson - Yes, it's a vibe. Fun. Very fun. Thank you for making a remix of the song.
g1 - This is your third time in Brazil. What comes to your mind when you hear things like 'doing a show in Brazil', 'Brazilian tour', or simply 'Brazilian fans'?
Louis Tomlinson - Chaos. And in the best possible sense. I totally love it.
Live experiences are defined by the most chaotic moments. And coming here and always feeling this energy is as if from the first drum beat, the fans were already there. It's a really triumphant feeling.
g1 - In musical terms, how was the experience of creating 'Faith in the Future' compared to 'Walls'?
Louis Tomlinson - I felt much more fulfilled, confident. I had more understanding of what I wanted to do and how to do it.
[On the first album], there was the factor that I left One Direction. It was as if my head was a mess and there was so much to think about... It didn't have a clear direction. I had to go through the experimentation phase to, in fact, understand who I am as an artist. That took time.
Throughout my creation of 'Walls', this was happening, but I was in a clearer, more concise place going to 'Faith in the Future'. And I think that made [the second] album better.
g1 - Recently, you created 28 Clothing, a fashion brand. What is your relationship with this sector?
Louis Tomlinson - I've always had a very funny relationship with fashion. Without a doubt, I'm interested in clothes, I've always been. Since I was young. But there is a level of haute couture that goes far beyond my understanding.
You know, I like to dress well. The brand is something I've always wanted to do. It is also intertwined with one of my [greatest] passions, football.
Football and fashion have been connected since the game was a game. People's fashion in the stands and everything else...
I think it's a very interesting thing and, for sure, a culture in which I was already inserted when I was younger. So, the brand helps me tell my story.
g1 - You once mentioned that you felt a little uncomfortable and more competitive at the beginning of your solo career. You said you were a little upset because you kept comparing your level of success with that of the other members of One Direction. Do you still feel that way?
Louis Tomlinson - No, I don't feel like it. Really. But I think that anyone - and obviously, there won't be many people who can identify with it - but anyone who has gone through a similar situation...
Being in a band and leaving on your own will always make your only reference be to compare yourself with other members. That's literally all you have.
I think it's a matter of maturity, actually. It took me a long time to look at it for what it was. Because that's where petulance begins. You start to think: 'If they're getting this, why can't I do it?'. And that becomes a little toxic.
Unfortunately, this is the nature of the music industry. It is naturally competitive. We are all competing for spots.
But now I see it in a very different way. And as I said, this requires maturity. I also needed to succeed on my own to be able to get through this. To overcome this.
Now, this comes back as I feel a confidence in saying these things.
Oh, and just to reiterate, because it's important: while I felt competitive, or more competitive than I am today, it wasn't like I wasn't immensely proud of everything the boys were doing.
It was more about reflecting on my own situation. Just about thinking: 'Oh, I wish I had a little of that'.
Now, I feel in a very, very, different place. And it's a nicer thing to feel, because being very competitive isn’t always the nicest feeling.
g1 - I imagine you hear questions like this all the time, right? Does it bother you?
Louis Tomlinson - Yes, it's okay. As I mentioned before, I understand the obvious public interest in One Direction. That's obvious. And you know, I appreciate that these things are interesting. I suppose [that they are].
g1 - Louis, many fans believe in the conspiracy theory that you’re dating Harry Styles, even though you describe this story as ridiculous. Why is this conspiracy so famous?
Louis Tomlinson - What I realized a few years ago is that there is nothing I can say, there is nothing I can do to stop those who believe in this conspiracy. They are so connected with what they believe they will not see the truth for what it actually is. I'm sure many people look and find all these little conspiracies that happen in life interesting.
I would be lying if I said it doesn't annoy me a little, but it's the nature of the work.
There are times when it gets very personal. I have my son, Freddie. He's the most important person in my life. And occasionally, [these theories] end up addressing things that are kind of unfair.
That's what we have now. There's nothing I can do about it. Nothing I can say to stop people from inventing what they want to invent. So, so be it.
g1 - Finally, what is your favorite song at the moment and why?
Louis Tomlinson - My favorite album is Paolo Nutini's last. It's great, amazing. He's an amazing singer, maybe he's my favorite singer. It's indeed an inspiring album.
And favorite music... I can't remember the name, but it's from The Libertines, a band I've liked since I was young.
